First post here, but I really post a lot at Afterschoolers.com

This is my little spot in the "sanctioned" blogosphere for my ramblings about afterschooling, that is, supplementing a child's public or private school education with homeschool techniques outside of school hours, but some folks call the bulletin boards at my site, http://www.afterschoolers.com/forums , my blog in action.

I believe that all parents should be actively involved in their children's education and that the parents are the ones responsible for making sure their children get the education they need. Schools are a tool in obtaining an education--they aren't the ultimate authority and giving them that responsibility has caused many of the problems with the education system today.

I look forward to hearing what you all have to say as I share what I am learning about afterschooling, both here and at www.afterschoolers.com .
